Spotlight on eSmart resources

This month our resources focus on 'Domain 4 - Guidance and Learning for Users'. This domain highlights the important role your library staff play in helping your users interact safely online. We have gathered these resources to help you through Domain 4.

Free tool to help parents implement basic smartphone rules 

To coincide with the release of a study into mobile usage, our partner Telstra has recently launched a free downloadable tool to encourage parents and children to discuss how to use a smartphone responsibily. Find out more.

If you are picking up eSmart after a break, or simply need a refresh, you can request a 1:1 webinar with one of our eSmart team. You can choose a particular domain to focus on, or look at all five. Cybersafety PD Day in NSW

This free event on Friday 11 September in Sydney will provide educators, library staff, wellbeing and cybersafety/IT leaders with the opportunity to learn the latest in cybersafety and wellbeing trends. Speakers include The Alannah and Madeline Foundation's eSmart team and the newly appointed Children's eSafety Commissioner, Alastair MacGibbon. Full event details will be available soon. Creating hope through art

The Foundation and Yarra Valley Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery are uniting to present ‘Hop for Hope’ – a collaborative art exhibition raising funds to keep children safe from violence and bullying. Nestled amongst the picturesque views of the Yarra Valley, the ‘Hop for Hope’ exhibition will showcase 40 larger than life-size kangaroos decorated and designed by iconic Australian artists and identities. Our partnership with the Telstra Foundation

Launched in August 2012 by the former Prime Minister of Australia, the Hon. Julia Gillard MP, our $8 million, multi-year partnership with the Telstra Foundation is delivering eSmart Libraries in collaboration with Australia's library network over the next six years to all of Australia's 1,500 public libraries for free. eSmart Libraries is now in 40% of public libraries across the country.
